This double-duty patio tray-table functions as both a side table and serving tray. Just lift away the top using the cutaway handles to carry food and drinks to your guests.

All of the pieces for this project are cut from just three standard-sized cedar decking boards, which you can easily find at most lumberyards or home centers.

The top features slats and cleats secured between the two handles with polyurethane glue. The base is made with mortise and tenon joinery and secured with polyurethane glue and wood screws. This project was published in Woodsmith Magazine No. 142.
