Perfect for the dining room and kitchen. This plate
shelf features several types of architectural-style moldings that are mitered
together.
First, there's a layer of dentil molding. (We include instructions for making
it yourself.) Just above the dentil molding, theres a layer of thick
crown molding. This molding isn't difficult to make either; it's built up in
layers. So to create the profile, all you need are a couple of common router
bits. Finally, the shelf is topped off with a galley rail.
The Plate Shelf is 36" long by 6-1/4" deep by 4-3/4" high. It's
attached to the wall with a cleat that is hidden from view.
This project was first published in Woodsmith No. 106.
